Charged fees due to lack of system operation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used PODS once in 2020 and it was not terrible. I needed to move again and decided to use them one more time.

I thought that a return customer may mean something to them. Well I guess not. The drop off, loading and pickup from the starting destination was great. No issues.

Well, the first problem came when I had fraud on a card and needed to close my bank account. PODS tried to charge it and it was declined for being closed. Fine. I called them when I got the new card and I was told that I could not update it over the phone.

I needed to fill out a form and send it back to them because it was in my mothers name. Well the first card was in her name too. Well that didnt matter to them. I had to open a new bank account (which I was going to do eventually) just to pay them.

Well, when I got my new card a few days later, the representative on the phone could not take the payment due to a system outage. They told me to call back tomorrow to do it. This happened for over a week. Finally I got annoyed and I asked to speak to a manager.

I was informed by three different representatives that the managers can do nothing about the system issue and I just had to wait. Finally I got a decent representative that tried over 15 times to add the card and it finally took. I was able to pay and get my container shipped. The issue I have is that the week that it took to add the card, it put me at the date for needing to pay over $600 for storage for my two containers.

I feel that I should have that fee waived due to PODS system issue. They disagree.

I have asked to speak with a manager multiple times and I never did get to speak with one. I was given an email to write to with my concerns and I was told that I am still responsible for the charges.

I am not even going to mention the mess the delivery drivers made of my yard with their "PODzilla."

PODS is a Fraud and Scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I shared a POD container with my daughter and (ex) son-in-law in July 2023. When he finished with the POD, I still needed the storage.

He called PODS to have the account changed over to my name and for the rental fee to be withdrawn from my/my daughters shared account. It has been automatically withdrawn from this SECU account since July/August 2021 with NO missed payments. On September 14, 2023, I called PODS to pay for delivery and set the date of September 30, 2023 for my container's to be delivered from GA to MD. I was then told that information was not changed over from my daughters ex-husbands name to mine TWO YEARS PRIOR in July 2021 when he called to change it, but it was noted that he called to change it and it should have been.

I was told no worries that the change would be made and the delivery of the POD would take place. However, the POD was not delivered. No one contacted me to inform me of such. I had arranged for my move, paid movers, etc.

This is bad business practice. I called and was told that my container would be delivered the next day. I knew that was impossible because the next day was Sunday, PODs don't deliver on Sundays, and GA was at least 12 hours to MD. I never heard back and called and scheduled another delivery date with PODS for the next week, 10/7/2023.

It was a no-show, again. I called to re-scheduled my delivery for 10/14/2023. I called to confirm the move and was told that the container was on the way and would be here. I was even told that the delivery was only $179 I thought that it was for my inconvenience.

Little did I know that it would never arrive. When I called, I was then told that it was not delivered because I needed to e-sign a form. I e-signed the form and scheduled it for delivery on 11/4/2023. Once again, it was not delivered.

Shame on you, PODS!

I have wasted so man hours on the phone with PODS and on one occasion, they could not tell me if my container would be delivered. I was hung up on. Ive been told that I would have to pay a re-delivery fee for a container that was never delivered. I've been told that I would have to continue paying rent for my container although I've paid for delivery and have been trying to have it delivered.

I have been charged all types of fees that none of the reps can explain and have left me on the phone to try to get answers only to come back and tell me that they cant speak to me. Marissa Ralstaon would return my call and its been over six weeks and I have not spoken to her yet. It is one thing after another. My property is being held hostage!

On the same date (9/14/2023) after paying $1792.65 for the container, PODS also took an additional $438.85 from my account (unauthorized).

This $1792.65 was a one-time payment from a different account that had that specific amount of money in it for the delivery. Every time I inquire about the $438.85, I get put on hold, and they come back with a different bogus explanation. Two weeks after the unauthorized withdrawal of the $438.85, PODS then deducted a $311.00 rental fee-increased from $225) and another $54.00 (container protection fee-never paid). I have NEVER paid either and informed the representative (who agreed and said that he would open a claim for a refund).

I've never received it. I have rental insurance for my container and have never paid this fee. They just take what amount they want. This is fraud at its worse.

This has to stop.

On November 14, 2023, PODS withdrew $379.00 from my account twice and caused an overdraft. This is insane and theft. God has blessed me to have my credit with my financial institution in good standing. However, PODS is ruining it!

I work very hard for my money and my property. It is being flushed down the toilet.

I called PODS on (11/27/2023) and spoke with three reps, was put on hold for long periods of time and told someone would call me back. This is not the first time that this has happened, might I add. Someone finally called me back from the Accounting Department named Price and told me that my account was in the arrears.

Unbelievable!

This is utterly absurd! I have paid for the delivery and trying to get my container delivered since September. PODS please explain to me and God how my account is $448.00 in the arrears, and where did you come up with this crazy amount? She could not explain the amount.

My rental fee is $225.00 per month, and they have taken ALL of the money out of my account! I have none!!! I was then told that if I don't pay the money, my property will be sold at an auction (crying and praying not). Finally, I was told that she could no longer discuss my case with me.

I would have to speak with Marissa in the legal department who handles accounts that are in arrears and Marissa would call me back. I have been told this by everyone and Marissa has yet to call me back and time is passing, and they are charging me every month. No one can accurately explain the charges and fees and everyone gives a different explanation.

Marissa emailed me late on 11/28 requesting to speak with James Williams to relinquish my container. In other words, at this point, PODS will not allow me to schedule the delivery at all because they said that they need to speak to my daughters ex-husband.

They keep making up things to prolong this and get money. I've explained several times that my daughter's ex is not with my daughter due to domestic-violence. He is in a bad state (PTSD, depression, suicidal-mental challenges). He is also disgruntled because the marriage was dissolved.

He's being very difficult with anything involving my daughter and their child. He will not cooperate with anything attached to her. She feared for her safety and the safety of her children. Against her better judgment, she texted him twice regarding the POD and received no response.

I don't understand why they need to speak to him. She is an authorized person on the account. PODS dropped the ball when they didn't change the name on the account. Pull the phone recording!

I have requested invoices for my $438.00 and $1,792.65 payments, explanation for other withdrawals and PODS refuses to honor my request.

I am so frustrated, upset, and livid! This is highway robbery! Please help me. I do NOT have money to continue to give to PODS.

I want my container with my property. Not only that, but I have had to purchase new clothing, shoes, furniture, dishes, etc. because PODS refuse to deliver my property. I can't continue this with PODS.

PODS customer service has a lot to be desired and has not been helpful.

This type of treatment is unacceptable and unfair. My property is very sentimental. It is expensive and irreplaceable. I put my trust in PODS!

I never expected or deserve this. This has been an emotional and mental roller coaster. I have spent long periods on the phone with PODS to have nothing done.

t has been almost three weeks since I provided my daughter's ex's information to Marissa at PODS and three months since the payment was made to deliver the container to ME. This is a shame before God the way that PODS has treated us and stolen money from our account!

I told PODS my daughter's ex has absolutely nothing to do with this account.

They continue to take money from an account that has nothing to do with him. My daughter is on the PODS' account, however. They asked for the pin number and it was provided. They have withdrawn all kinds of ungodly fees until the account has gone in the arrears!

Shame on them!

This is nothing short of thievery!

PODS continue to hold the container hostage. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the container belongs to my daughter's ex-NOTHING!

Prevent other Consumers from being ripped off

I packed my first and only pod container just about eight years ago. I was preparing to downsize from my 3000-square-foot home and wanted to move into storage several items before the final move.

Pods quoted me $168 for a 16-foot container and promised the first delivery after storage would be free. The container was well-used. That did not matter because I was promised the warehouses would be pest-free and have climate control.

My container was initially stored in the PODS Norwood, Massachusetts facility. On two occasions, when I attempted access to the container, PODS could not locate it.

I also found out that the facility was not climate-controlled

After moving to Nashua, New Hampshire, I asked that the PODS container be moved closer to me. It was moved to their storage facility and warehouse in Nashua. This warehouse was very rundown, poorly lit, dirty, and rodent-infested. It was not climate-controlled either.

You could sense the dampness found both within the warehouse as well as within my container.

The items in my container were expertly tied down so as not to shift. When I accessed the container, things were thrown about. It must have taken a beating in transit.

Throughout this time, PODS kept increasing its monthly price. They blamed it on cost, COVID, inflation, etc.

They had raised it to over $200 a month. They would send you an email saying that they had to raise their prices due to cost. When I finally finished with pods, I paid nearly $270 monthly for that same 16-foot container. This was a complete ripoff.

PODS moved my container from their dilapidated Nashua warehouse to a more modern facility 30 miles north in Manchester, New Hampshire.

They never told me. When I went to the old acility, it was closed and nearly impossible to find anybody who knew where the containers at that facility were moved to.

The first address I was given for his new facility was not a facility but a staging area for PODS containers in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Fortunately, the driver who was leaving this area was able to direct me to the Manchester facility.

The customer service at PODS is almost nonexistent. All the phone numbers they give you are for sales.

The facilities are not climate-controlled. With the exception of the Manchester, New Hampshire facility and Staff, my experience was terrible, and I would counsel anyone to look elsewhere for their storage needs.

I contacted PODs 2 1/2 weeks ago and the legal department told me they have record of this pod sitting in the front of my deceased sons home. It must be removed because I am required to get two cars out of the garage and I cant do it.

PODs will not respond when I call I get to go around in circles.
I sent an email to the legal department and still do not have a response. So I have no choice but to tow this POD and set it in front of the sheriffs office or the courthouse. I dont
know what else to do when a lousy company and their legsl department says theyre going to respond and never does. Plus, they have no respect for a Father that has a DECEASED son and an empty house.

. PODs absolutely STINKS.

I have tried to contact POD many times over the last 2 1/2 weeks. On 8/15 the legal department (Norma, Legal Dept Ref #0101****) told me they would get back to me in THREE DAYS and that was two weeks ago. This POD is blocking the garage door and I have to get the cars out of this garage immediately! So I have no alternative but to have the POD towed. I Need PODS to make decision: Should I tow in front of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Courthouse, take it to the dump, or is there someplace else you want it because its going tomorrow?

Terrible Service and customer service

I am to the point of ready to chew nails. I have to say that I have never had such terrible service and customer service from a company.

I worked 32 years in the fire service and customer service was priority one at all times.

I placed an order for a delivery and received an email confirming it and the delivery day and time. The driver shows up and immediately was bad mouthing his new supervisor and their customer service that had messed up 3 other jobs for him today. I acknowledged his bad day and proceded to show him where to place the box which was the same spot your driver dropped a larger box 3 years ago. He immediately goes into a rage of the box loaded wrong and he couldn't make it work saying I must have ordered it wrong or their customer service had made yet another mistake.

I gave him an option of a parking lot next door to turn the box around on his truck. He advised he didn't have time and told me to look at the traffic trying to get through the tunnel. He said he wasn't getting paid to turn the box around and that I would have to call customer service and reschedule. He loaded his truck and left.

I called customer service very upset and spent over 21/2 hours finally reaching a supervisor to get my situation straight getting disconnected 3 times and no one calling back knowing they had my phone number as they had read it to me. After a long drawn out discussion, the supervisor advised the manager for the delivery office would call me to see if we could resolve my issue. The customer service supervisor, Andrea, advised she would call me back within an hour to make sure the manager contacted me since she could not give me a phone number to her or the manager. It's now close to 2 hours later and no call from anyone.

My account says they are delivering tomorrow 114*-***. So, I'm out of the help and time all day today for getting the POD loaded that I set up with friends. Now I lose another whole day waiting on delivery again. Obviously no one cares enough to contact me for your mistake and my inconvenience.

My account was charged for a delivery today which did not happen but no one cares to contact me or resolve the issue. I used you guys 3 years ago and was very satisfied. But this time will cause me to never go back nor let my family or friends get recommendations for you.

That driver was very disrespectful and your customer service department gets the worst grade possible for attempting to resolve an issue that your company caused. Looking for help and answers before putting you guys on blast.

(1) Everyone is overseas; (2) they can only read from a script; (3) they make promises IN WRITING during the booking process that ironically do not get kept in writing or reality, in the long run, disappears from their records after booking! Told me I was rude for calling them out on lies in the moment.

Not the customer service I was ever taught about.

UPDATE: Had to reschedule next leg of trip when POD not delivered in time to meet up with long haul movers (PODS DO NOT service all areas of the Continental US!!), ultimately costing my family an extra $8k, because PODS refused to fulfil originally promised drop off date. Made official complaint online with PODS, contacted two days later by PODS customer services, stating they can make the change after all.

Too late, locked in with long haul company, cannot accept late offer...later that day received notice that my dispute was resolved with no wrong doing on their part? Convenient.

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We recently moved to a different state. For this move, we got two pods delivered to our home.

One was to be delivered to our new home and the other was to be stored. We packed our things and left the pickup in what we thought were capable hands. Fast-forward to when we expected our things to be delivered - no delivery. They actually cancelled the delivery and said that the pod was returned empty.

We contacted customer service and after trying for hours to actually speak to a person, were told that they would have the pod delivered. We went through several days of calling customer service, them saying they had contacted the facility our container was at (later found out they meant they emailed and got no response) and saying they were working on it. After several frustrating days of them flat out lying and saying that they knew where the pod was and were trying to get it delivered, we found out via our old landlord that the pod was left at the house. Due to their poor service, Pods told us they would refund us the total charges for the pod and delivery.

Well, they lied. We had to dispute the charges with our bank and they've continued to charge us and actually make unauthorized charges to our card while locking us out of the online account. Additionally, calling customer service is a nightmare.

We have sat on hold, waiting to be transferred just to be disconnected and have to start the process over entirely and oftentimes be disconnected again. As soon as we get all of our things, we will NEVER use this company again.

I am in the SAME boat! I paid for the delivery of my container in September and have not received it yet!

They have been withdrawing different sums of money from my account every money and sometimes twice a month and can't explain the charges. They have caused it to go into arrears. PODS is a fraud and scam. This is thievery!

They should not be allowed to get away with this! They should be exposed for treating customers like this. I will not stop until I get my money returned and my container.

This should be a class action lawsuit! Meanwhile the CEO is a multi-millionaire.
