Worst costumer service I've ever experienced. With moving and just about anything in life, things will likely go wrong.

If you decide to be a PODS costumer, pray that nothing goes wrong with your order because they will not work with you to reasonably resolve the issue and will treat you like you are the problem. I had two major issues with my PODS order, neither of which PODS would work with me to solve. Both led to me filing a complaint with the BBB. The first issue was quickly resolved once the BBB got involved.

I just filed the second complaint yesterday. But it is ridiculous that PODS won't work with me directly to solve these issues. Here are the issues: first, PODS was going to charge me for an extra month of storage due to their driver's lack of availability to pick up our empty PODS. I spoke with three different people at PODS about this and they were all horrible and progressively treated me worse.

I filed the BBB complaint and heard right away from headquarters that they would not charge me. I have not been charged and that issue is now resolved. But an even worse issue arose. On June 14th I called to schedule the delivery of our PODS on June 30th.

I requested that the PODS be placed on the street and explicitly asked to make sure that was possible. On June 29th, the day before delivery, I was informed that the city I just moved to has a long standing ordinance that does not allow for street placement, something PODS is well aware of, but did not tell me. Having less than 24 hours to figure out what to do, my only option was to rent a Penske truck and hire movers to unload the Pods to the truck and then unload the truck at our house. This cost me close to $800 (and put added unnecessary stress on our possessions, which did get scratched) but PODS is only willing to reimburse me for $470 and this is after I was treated horribly because the rep who reviewed my complaint didn't review my whole file before calling me to initially tell me they wouldn't reimburse me for anything.

PODS has the worst business model when it comes to dealing with costumer issues. I was told over and over that "there isn't anything I can do" or "my supervisor doesn't talk on the phone to costumers." It is clear that PODS stance is that the customer is always wrong and that they have no good procedures in place to work with costumers when things go wrong. I have never before in my life filed a complaint with the BBB, but have now filed two complaints against PODS. They are the worst company I've ever worked with.

I highly recommend avoiding at all costs. BTW, if I had known well beforehand that our PODS could not be placed in the street, I would have been able to make arrangements for them to be in my driveway and neighborhood.

The cost and stress was not an inevitability. But it was inevitable on such short notice.

Kara, can you verify that PODS actually followed through on the agreed upon resolution? I have read and seen where they blow a lot of smoke to get things "resolved" but they never actually follow through on their word.
