PODS misrepresent fees

pods complaint
PODS (portable on demand storage) entirely misrepresented their storage, delivery, and redelivery fees. They add extra fees they do not tell you about, charge your card without authorization, and their customer service department (if you ever get a person) is rude and incompetent.

I would look at other storage options as PODS is not as nice as it seems.

If you enjoy stress, price gouging, delays and talking to incompetent sales reps, use PODS. Otherwise avoid them at all costs. My experience is very similar to DMs above (#1) . Was quoted for a $400 price for transferring my goods. When I asked to have them transferred, price was over $1000. They are supposed to review my call to find the original quote which has now delayed me getting my stuff by 2 weeks (this process was supposed to take 24-72 hrs according to them). Oh, and they're still charging me monthly while they investigate. Total scam.

I too have had a bad time with there corporate customer service. Every time I call they tell me a different price. I have a original quote which they will not honor. I told the agent I did not have my zipcode when we made the original quote. His instructions were to call back with it when I had it. I did, it is 3 miles from the zip code he put in as a place holder and the zip code is serviced by the same franchise location but they are charging me $800 more!! Apparently they are going to review the voice recording to see if I am due a refund... I am supposed to find out in 72 hours. The idea is a good one, it might be great to use locally. For moving thought they are a bear to work with.

My experience with PODS was just the opposite. I moved with them and everything worked out great. The reps were fine and the price they told me was the price they charged. Also, the driver was really professional. My experience with PODS was excellent.
